Help and advice

Information on who you should contact on local and national government issues is given on the ‘who to contact’ page. Other useful contacts offering help and advice on a wide range of issues from benefits to water supply are included on the organisations page.

A very useful resource giving advice on a wide range of issues is the Citizens Advice Bureaux Adviceguide website.

In most cases, your MSP or MP is best able to provide help or advice if a number of other steps have been taken first. If you have a problem with a company, organisation or agency, in the first instance you should normally contact them directly (keeping a copy of all correspondence). If your problem is still not resolved, then many organisations have a complaints procedure; and if this doesn't resolve the problem there may be an industry watchdog or similar group which can look into your problem.
