8 November 2007 Smith to Introduce Bill to speed up Military Death Inquiries Margaret Smith MSP is to introduce a Member’s Bill to the Scottish Parliament that would allow fatal accident inquiries to be held into the deaths of Scottish servicemen and women abroad.

Smith and Barrett object again to boundary changes Margaret Smith, MSP for Edinburgh West has written to both the Boundary Commission and Tom McCabe MSP, Minister for Finance and Public Service Reform, to register her objections to planned changes to the council ward boundaries in the Silverknowes and Davidson’s Mains areas. Margaret declared:“Splitting an established community like Davidson’s Mains into three separate council wards goes completely against the Boundary Commission’s legal requirement to protect community ties.”
MSP slams cash for cash scandal Margaret Smith MSP is campaigning to end the scandal of Edinburgh’s most deprived communities having to pay for access to their own money. The West Edinburgh MSP wants banks to work with the Scottish Executive to restore free services and access for all of their customers.
