Forth Crossing Bill Update

The Forth Crossing Bill Committee has now been formed. Further details on the work of the committee can be found on the Scottish Parliament's website at http://www.scottish.parliament.uk/s3/committees/forthXbill/index.htm.

A list of objectors to the Bill was published in the Parliament's business bulletin on Monday and can be viewed by clicking on the following link http://www.scottish.parliament.uk/business/businessBulletin/bb-10/bb-02-01g.htm. Full details of the objections lodged will be published on the Parliament's website in due course. These should be available by Monday 8th February 2010.

The Parliament's Transport, Infrastructure and Climate Change Committee took evidence on the Bill on Tuesday of this week (2nd February). Margaret attended this meeting and again raised her concerns regarding the fact that the Bill takes away a Local Authority's right in relation to Environmental Protection and Statutory Nuisance. The full text of Margaret's objection can be found on this website in the News section under Speeches and Articles.

The Transport, Infrastructure and Climate Change Committee has issued a call for views on the proposals in the Forth Crossing Bill to create a public transport corridor on the current Forth Road Bridge. Further information on the Committee's call for views can be found at http://www.scottish.parliament.uk/s3/committees/ticc/inquiries/ForthTransportViews.htm.

If you have further queries about the Bill please feel free to contact the office on 0131 317 7292 (Monday and Friday) or 0131 348 5786 (Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday).
