Smith welcomes Final Business Case for
Trams
18/10/07
Margaret Smith MSP has welcomed the release today
of the Final Business Case for Edinburgh’s Trams project. The
document updates the draft version which was published in November
of last year and details the costs, operational details and impacts
of the tram development.
Commenting, the Edinburgh West MSP said: “As a long
time supporter of the trams project, I am pleased that a further step
forward has been taken with the publication of the Final Business Case.
I am particularly pleased that negotiations have brought down the estimated
costs of the project by nearly £50 million.
“I hope that the City of Edinburgh Council will
approve the Final Business Case so that construction of the tram system
can proceed as I believe that it will have numerous and wide-ranging
benefits for the city and Scotland as a whole.”
