Smith supporting medical aid to Gaza

Margaret Smith MSP has signed a Parliamentary motion supporting the efforts of Scots Linda Willis and Khalil al Niss, who are trying to personally deliver much needed medical supplies and equipment into the Gaza Strip on behalf of the people of Scotland by driving from Edinburgh to Palestine.

Commenting, the Edinburgh West MSP said:

“The Egyptian authorities are demanding confirmation from the Scottish Parliament that the medicines have been donated by the Scottish people before allowing them into Gaza, and it is a terrible shame that these desperately needed medicines are not reaching the hospitals.

“A previous letter from the Parliament failed to convince the authorities and it is hoped that this motion may help. I hope that more of my Parliamentary colleagues will add their signatures and that the medicines will be able to help the people they were intended for.”
